Pumptyp
Select which type of pump or pump model you want to display:
Filter pumps are energy efficient and delivers a lot of water at low head. Suitable for pumping dirty water to the pond filter. Low maintenance requirments.
A fountain pump has higher pressure and is suitable for fountains. Requires relatively clean water and are not suitable for pumping dirty water to a pond filter.
Pumps with asynchronous motor that can be regulated with a dimmer.
Pumps with an electronic control unit that regulates flow and monitories the energy consumption.
Low-voltage Pumps (12 Volt). Suitable for e.g. swimponds .
Pump s for dry installation outside the pond (pump must be installed lower than the pond surface).
Head of water
The max. flow represent the amount of water that the pump can deliver at minimum output head (at pond surface) and no hose connected. When a hose or pipe is connected the flow of water get lower and will be zero at the pump max head. Measure head of water from pond surface to the highest point of the hose.
Hose-length and connected filter
It may feel like you get more water out of a thinner hose due to the higher pressure, but the higher friction in the thinner hose makes the pump deliver less water. The calculation of hose friction is based on the common used black ribbed (flex) hose. A straight hose without turns or fittings has less friction and since you in reality can't lay out the hose completely straight, the system uses a slightly higher value for hose friction.
The calculation of how much the flow of water decreases when you connect a filter shall be seen as an estimate valid under normal conditions.
Watercourse (width)
This alternative displays the flow of water as width of a watercourse. The recommendation is based on that it takes at least 1000 l/hour for making it possible to build a watercourse of 10 cm width. This shall be seen as a recommendation, depending on the circumstances more water may be needed.
